HSBC Rewards points can be cashed out effectively at a rate of 0.005 cents per point by applying them towards your existing travel purchases made on the card, such as Aeroplan flight award taxes or a Hotels.com booking. Points can also be effectively converted to cash by utilizing the refundable hotel trick.

Conclusion

HSBC’s credit card lineup offers some great value for individuals who are looking for easy-to-redeem rewards or a simple way to earn cash back. While the World Elite is their flagship card, each of the HSBC cards listed above presents value in a different way.

  1. Do we need to be a new user? For example, will these cards promo work for someone who has a different HSBC credit card with them recently?

    • In that scenario yes you would still be eligible. If you’ve churned the card and are applying for the same one then it depends. The cashback should track and we should get paid out, but if it doesn’t and we have to appeal with the bank then it is within their rights to decline based on you having previously held the card.
