Frugal Flyer is excited to announce we are now offering FlyerFunds cash back rebates on four HSBC credit cards: the HSBC World Elite Mastercard, the HSBC Travel Rewards Mastercard, the HSBC +Rewards Mastercard, and the HSBC Cash Rewards Mastercard.
HSBC Credit Cards – Cash Back Rebates
Frugal Flyer is now offering cash back rebates on the HSBC line of credit cards. Taking advantage of the FlyerFunds Rebate program, in conjunction with the card’s existing welcome bonus can be very lucrative.
The table below outlines all of the details surrounding these offers, including the total value you can expect to receive from these cards in the first year of card membership:
Credit Card | Welcome Bonus | Other Cash Equivalent Benefits | FlyerFunds Rebate | Net Value |
HSBC World Elite Mastercard | Earn 20,000 HSBC Rewards points upon first purchase ($100 value). Earn 30,000 HSBC Rewards points when you spend $1,000 within 60 days of account opening ($150 value). The annual fee of $149 is waived in the first year. | $100 Travel Enhancement credit | $150 | $400 |
HSBC Travel Rewards Mastercard | Earn 20,000 HSBC Rewards points when you spend $1,000 within 60 days of account opening ($100 value). This card has no annual fee. | Not applicable | $120 | $220 |

HSBC Cash Rewards Mastercard | Earn an additional 10% cash back on up to $1,000 in purchases in the first 60 days of account opening ($100 value). This card has no annual fee. | Not applicable | $125 | $225 |
The HSBC World Elite credit card has the best value when considering overall return value, with it being possible for cardholders to earn $525 in value upon meeting the spending requirements.
That being said, we recommend taking the time to understand the ins and outs of all cards within HSBC’s lineup before choosing the one that is right for your wallet.

The HSBC World Elite Mastercard offers a strong welcome bonus, a $100 travel enhancement credit, free Boingo WiFi membership, and no foreign transaction fees.
The $100 travel enhancement credit can be applied towards a range of ancillary travel expenses, such as seat selection or checked baggage fees. Cardholders also receive complimentary Boingo Wifi membership (which is a great way to access WestJet WiFi for free).
This card is one of the few in Canada that offers no foreign transaction fees, meaning that you will save 2.5% on all foreign currency transactions anywhere in the world. HSBC Rewards Program
Three of the HSBC credit cards listed above accrue HSBC Rewards points for all purchases made on the cards. HSBC Rewards is a very flexible, easy-to-understand, and easy-to-redeem loyalty program which makes it even more attractive for prospective cardholders.
HSBC Rewards points can be cashed out effectively at a rate of 0.005 cents per point by applying them towards your existing travel purchases made on the card, such as Aeroplan award flight taxes or a Hotels.com booking. Points can also be effectively converted to cash by utilizing the refundable hotel trick.

Do we need to be a new user? For example, will these cards promo work for someone who has a different HSBC credit card with them recently?
In that scenario yes you would still be eligible. If you’ve churned the card and are applying for the same one then it depends. The cashback should track and we should get paid out, but if it doesn’t and we have to appeal with the bank then it is within their rights to decline based on you having previously held the card.
