Rewards Rates
The BMO Ascend World Elite Business Mastercard earns BMO Rewards points for all purchases made on the card:
- 4 BMO Rewards points for every dollar spent on gas, office supplies, cell phone services, and internet bill purchases (up to $50,000 in spend per calendar year).
- 1.5 BMO Rewards points for every dollar spent on all other purchases.
Redeeming BMO Rewards
BMO Rewards points are best used for travel purchases that are booked through the BMO Travel Portal. When redeeming BMO Rewards points towards bookings made through the travel portal, the redemption rate is 150 BMO Rewards points = $1 CAD.
There are additional redemption options including merchandise, gift cards, a statement credit, or cash investment in a BMO investment account. However, if you want to maximize the value of your BMO Rewards points, you should only redeem them for travel.

2 Airport Lounge Passes
BMO Ascend World Elite Business Mastercard cardholders are eligible to receive complimentary membership to the Dragonpass lounge program, in addition to two complimentary airport lounge passes. The DragonPass airport lounge program includes over 1,300 lounges worldwide, making it easy for the cardholder and their guests to find a lounge before their next flight.
Up To 7₵/L Discount on Fuel at Shell
Cardholders who link their BMO Ascend World Elite Business Mastercard with their AIR MILES collector number will receive a $0.02 per litre discount on regular fuel (Shell Bronze and Shell Silver) and a $0.07 per litre discount on premium fuel (Shell V-Power NiTRO+ or Shell V-Power NiTRO+ 91 or Shell VPower NiTRO+ 93) purchased at Shell gas stations. This discount is available up to a maximum of 1,000 litres per month.
Insurance Coverage
The BMO Ascend World Elite Business Mastercard offers several types of insurance coverage:
- Out-of-province or country emergency medical insurance: $5,000,000 coverage for the first 15 days of any out-of-province trips for travelers aged 64 or under
- Trip cancellation insurance: $1,500 per covered person per trip, up to an overall $5,000 maximum
- Trip interruption & trip delay insurance: $2,000 per covered person per trip, up to an overall $10,000 maximum
- Rental car collision and loss damage insurance: Comprehensive coverage for cars up to $65,000 MSRP
- Common carrier insurance: $500,000 of accidental death and dismemberment coverage
- Lost, stolen, or damaged baggage insurance: $500 per person coverage for emergency purchases when your baggage is lost or delayed, up to an overall maximum of $1,000 per trip
- Baggage delay insurance: $500 per person coverage for emergency purchases when your baggage is lost or delayed, up to an overall maximum of $2,000 per trip
- Flight delay insurance: $500 per trip for all insured persons combined in the event of a flight delay of more than four hours
- Hotel burglary insurance: $1,000 coverage for stolen items per occurrence
- Purchase security: Coverage for accidental physical damage or theft for 90 days from the date of purchase
- Extended warranty insurance: Extend the manufacturer’s original warranty up to one additional year
