Rewards Rates

The HSBC +Rewards credit card earns HSBC Rewards points for all purchases made on the card:

  • 2 HSBC Rewards points for every dollar spent on dining and entertainment purchases.
  • 1 HSBC Rewards point for every dollar spent on all other purchases.

Redeeming HSBC Rewards

HSBC Rewards points can be redeemed for travel, a statement credit, gift cards, and merchandise.

The best value for your points is to redeem them for travel purchases at a rate of 200 HSBC Rewards points = $1 CAD.

HSBC Rewards points have the ultimate flexibility when redeeming for travel-related purchases. When redeeming HSBC Rewards for travel purchases, the cardholder is able to book travel through any method they desire and then redeem points against the charge once it has been posted to their account.

This flexibility in redemption also gives the cardholder additional flexibility, such as being able to redeem HSBC Rewards points for a hotel stay that was booked directly with Marriott. This means that you would be able to also take advantage of any status you might have with Marriott (whereas if you booked with a third party this would not be possible).

Insurance Coverage

The HSBC +Rewards credit card offers three types of insurance coverage:

  • Price protection
  • Extended warranty
  • Price assurance

Refer to the HSBC +Rewards insurance certificate for additional details, including terms and conditions for eligibility.
