Earning Aventura Points
The CIBC Aventura Visa Business Plus card earns Aventura points for all purchases made on the card:
- 2 Aventura Points for every dollar spent on travel purchased through the CIBC Rewards Centre.
- 1.5 Aventura Points for every dollar spent on gas, electric vehicle charging, transportation, and travel purchases (such as flights, hotel stays, car rentals, and travel agencies).
- 1 Aventura Point for every dollar spent on all other purchases.
Redeeming Aventura Points
CIBC Aventura points are best redeemed for either flight redemptions or travel purchases via the Shopping with Points redemption option if you want to maximize their value.
If you are interested in redeeming Aventura points for flights, the Aventura Airline Rewards Chart is a great option worth considering as cardholders can redeem their points directly for a flight booking up to a maximum ticket price. This redemption option usually presents the best value that cardholders can expect to receive from their Aventura points.
CIBC Shopping with Points is our preferred redemption option, as Aventura cardholders can redeem their points against travel purchases made on their card at a rate of 1 cent per point.
CIBC Aventura points can also be redeemed for merchandise, gift cards, and a statement credit. CIBC infrequently runs promotions on certain gift cards which can offer strong value, but otherwise, merchandise and statement credit redemptions should be avoided due to their lower cent per point value.
