Rewards Rates
The CIBC Aventura Visa Infinite Privilege credit card earns Aventura points for all eligible purchases made on the card:
- 3 Aventura Points per dollar spent on travel purchases made through the CIBC Rewards Centre.
- 2 Aventura Points per dollar spent on dining, entertainment, transportation, electric vehicle charging stations, gas, and grocery purchases.
- 1.25 Aventura Points per dollar spent on all other purchases.
Redeeming Aventura Points
The best value in redeeming Aventura points is to use them for either flight redemptions or travel purchases via the Shopping with Points redemption option.
CIBC Shopping with Points is our preferred redemption redemption as Aventura cardholders can redeem their points against travel purchases made on their card at a rate of 1.25 cents per point.
Aventura points can be redeemed for flight rewards through the CIBC Rewards Centre. You can determine how many Aventura points your next flight reward will cost you through the Aventura Points Flight Finder tool.
There can be decent value in redeeming CIBC Aventura points for gift cards through CIBC Rewards. The value you can get out of this redemption can be stronger than 1 cent per point during specific promotions when the cost of certain gift cards is reduced. Aventura also gives cardholders the option to redeem points for a statement credit, however, this is a poor value compared to the other options available and should be avoided.

Benefits
Cardholders receive a $200 annual travel credit that can be used towards travel bookings including hotels, flights, and car rentals booked through the CIBC Rewards Centre. To use this credit, call 1-888-317-7728 to speak to a customer service representative who will assist you with applying the credit towards a new booking. The $200 annual travel credit cannot be applied to existing bookings.
CIBC Aventura Visa Infinite Privilege cardholders are eligible to receive complimentary membership to the Dragonpass lounge program, in addition to six complimentary airport lounge passes.
Cardholders are also eligible to receive up to a $100 statement credit when using their CIBC Aventura Visa Infinite Privilege card for a NEXUS application. Simply charge the NEXUS application fee to your credit card to receive this rebate. Cardholders are eligible to receive this Nexus rebate once every 4 years.
