Earning AAdvantage Miles
The American Airlines AAdvantage MileUp Card earns AAdvantage miles for all purchases made on the card:
- 2 AAdvantage miles for every dollar spent on American Airlines and grocery purchases.
- 1 AAdvantage mile for every dollar spent on all other purchases.
For each AAdvantage mile earned, one American Airlines loyalty point will be earned as well. These loyalty points give cardholders the opportunity to work towards AAdvantage status through spending on their credit card.
Redeeming AAdvantage Miles
American Airlines AAdvantage miles can be redeemed for flights on American Airlines metal in addition to flights on Oneworld and other partner airlines.

Benefits
Cardholders are eligible to save 25% on in-flight food and beverage purchases when using their Citi / AAdvantage MileUp card on American Airlines flights.
Insurance Coverage
The American Airlines AAdvantage MileUp Card does not offer any insurance coverage for cardholders.
