The Citi/AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite Mastercard earns AAdvantage miles for all purchases made on the card:
- 2 AAdvantage miles for every dollar spent on American Airlines purchases, restaurant purchases, and gas purchases.
- 1 AAdvantage mile for every dollar spent on all other purchases.
For each AAdvantage mile earned, one American Airlines loyalty point will be earned as well. These loyalty points give cardholders the opportunity to work towards AAdvantage status through spending on their credit card.
Redeeming AAdvantage Miles
American Airlines AAdvantage miles can be redeemed for flights on American Airlines metal in addition to flights on Oneworld and other partner airlines.

Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite cardholders will receive their first checked bag free on any American Airlines itineraries (in addition to up to four guests on the same itinerary). Cardholders will also enjoy preferred boarding on American Airlines flights, regardless of ticket class.
Cardholders are eligible to save 25% on in-flight food and beverage purchases when using their Citi / AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite Card on American Airlines flights.
Cardholders are eligible to receive a $125 American Airlines flight discount credit after you spend $20,000 during a cardmember year and renew your card.
The Citi / AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite Card does not offer any insurance coverage for cardholders.
