Earning BMO Rewards Points
The BMO eclipse rise Visa card earns BMO Rewards points for all purchases made on the card:
- 5 BMO Rewards points for every $2 spent on recurring bill payments, groceries, dining, and takeout.
- 1 BMO Rewards points for every $2 spent on everything else.
Redeeming BMO Rewards Points
BMO Rewards points are best used for travel purchases that are booked through the BMO Travel Portal. When redeeming BMO Rewards points towards bookings made through the travel portal, the redemption rate is 150 BMO Rewards points = $1 CAD.
There are additional redemption options including merchandise, gift cards, a statement credit, or cash investment in a BMO investment account. However, if you want to maximize the value of your BMO Rewards points, you should only redeem them for travel.
Benefits
Receive Up To 5,000 Bonus BMO Rewards Points
BMO eclipse rise Visa cardholders can earn up to a total of 5,000 Bonus BMO Rewards points per year.
Cardholders can receive 2,500 BMO Rewards points as a bonus for paying their full credit card balance on time for 12 consecutive months. They will receive an additional 2,500 BMO Rewards points for redeeming at least 12,000 BMO Rewards points annually towards their statement balance using the Pay with Points feature.
Up To 7₵/L Discount on Fuel at Shell
Cardholders who link their BMO eclipse rise Visa card with their AIR MILES collector number will receive a $0.02 per litre discount on regular fuel (Shell Bronze and Shell Silver) and a $0.07 per litre discount on premium fuel (Shell V-Power NiTRO+ or Shell V-Power NiTRO+ 91 or Shell VPower NiTRO+ 93) purchased at Shell gas stations. This discount is available up to a maximum of 1,000 litres per month.

The BMO eclipse rise Visa card offers the following insurance coverages:
- Mobile device insurance: $1,000 coverage for theft, loss, or accidental damage to your mobile device
- Purchase security: Coverage for accidental physical damage or theft for 90 days from the date of purchase
- Extended warranty insurance: Extend the manufacturer’s original warranty up to one additional year
