Earning BMO Rewards Points
The BMO eclipse Visa Infinite credit card earns BMO Rewards points for all purchases made on the card:
- 5 BMO Rewards points for every dollar spent on grocery, gas, dining, and transit purchases up to a set dollar limit per calendar year.
- Grocery: Up to $6,000 in purchases per calendar year
- Gas: Up to $20,000 in purchases per calendar year
- Dining: Up to $6,000 in purchases per calendar year
- Transit: Up to $20,000 in purchases per calendar year
- 1 BMO Rewards point for every dollar spent on all other everyday purchases.
Once the spending threshold for an above-listed category is reached, all future purchases in that category for the calendar year will earn 1 BMO Reward point per dollar spent.
Redeeming BMO Rewards Points
BMO Rewards points are best used for travel purchases that are booked through the BMO Travel Portal. When redeeming BMO Rewards points towards bookings made through the travel portal, the redemption rate is 150 BMO Rewards points = $1 CAD.
There are additional redemption options including merchandise, gift cards, a statement credit, or cash investment in a BMO investment account. However, if you want to maximize the value of your BMO Rewards points, you should only redeem them for travel.
Benefits
$50 Lifestyle Credit
BMO eclipse Visa Infinite cardholders are eligible to receive a $50 anniversary lifestyle credit. This credit is applied to the first purchase made on the card that totals over $200; no further action is required in order to receive the credit.
The lifestyle credit is based on the anniversary year of the credit card account, meaning it will refresh each year upon the annual fee renewal date.
$20 Monthly Streaming Credit
Cardholders can receive up to a $20 monthly streaming credit on eligible purchases when spending a minimum of $500 on net card purchases each month.
Instacart+ & Monthly $10 Credit
Cardholders who enroll their BMO eclipse Visa Infinite Card can enjoy six months of Instacart+ and a $10 monthly Instacart credit.

Insurance Coverage
The BMO Eclipse Visa Infinite credit card offers several types of insurance coverage:
- Out-of-province or country emergency medical insurance: $5,000,000 coverage for the first 15 days of any out-of-province trips for travelers aged 64 or under
- Rental car collision and loss damage insurance: Comprehensive coverage for cars up to $65,000 MSRP
- Common carrier insurance: $500,000 of accidental death and dismemberment coverage
- Purchase security: Coverage for accidental physical damage or theft for 90 days from the date of purchase
- Extended warranty insurance: Extend the manufacturer’s original warranty up to one additional year
- Mobile device insurance: $1,000 coverage for theft, loss, or accidental damage to your mobile device
