Earning Cash Back
The RBC Cash Back Mastercard earns cash back for all purchases made on the card:
- 2% cash back on groceries.
- 1% cash back on gas, EV charging, transit, and rideshare.
- 0.5% cash back on all other everyday purchases.
There is no cap on earning rates, meaning you can earn unlimited cash back.
Redeeming Cash Back
RBC Cash Back Mastercard holders who have a minimum cash back balance of $25 will be paid out annually on the February monthly credit card statement.
Note: As of December 2nd, 2026, auto-redemption in December will no longer be available, allowing you to choose when and how to redeem your Cash Back Reward for maximum flexibility and value. Cardholders can redeem cash back at any time with a minimum of $1 through Online Banking or the RBC Mobile App or by calling in.

- Purchase security: Coverage for accidental physical damage or theft for 90 days from the date of purchase (up to $50,000 per calendar year)
- Extended warranty: Extend the manufacturer’s original warranty up to one additional year

Cash Back Credits are not earned on cash advances (including balance transfers, cash-like transactions and bill payments that are not pre-authorized charges that you set up with a merchant), interest charges or fees, and credits for returns and adjustments will reduce or cancel the cash back credits earned by the amounts originally charged. The Welcome Bonus will be credited to your Cash Back Account within 4-6 weeks after each Statement Date within the Period, provided your credit card account remains open and in good standing at that time “Good standing” meaning that your Credit Card Account must not be past due for more than two (2) consecutive credit card account statement periods, closed, charged off or in credit revoked status.
