Best Western Gift Cards: Buy $100, Get $20 (20% Bonus)

I’m a bit late to the party but as I was planning a ski trip to Fernie this past week I came across a nice Best Western promotion.  Apparently, this promotion was also offered over the summer. For those looking to do some domestic trips this year, it may be of interest.

Especially given the limited availability of Airbnb’s right now, Best Western is one of the better options for budget accommodation.

The Promo

Best Western is selling gift cards and e-gift cards with a 20% bonus. For each $100 gift card you buy, you will get a $20 bonus gift card.

best western gift card 20% promotion

Key details:

  • There’s no published end date for this promotion
  • With each $100 Best Western gift card you get a $20 bonus card
  • The bonus applies to both physical and e-gift cards
  • The maximum total bonus per person is $100 (buy 5 $100 gift cards)
  • The bonus gift cards have an expiry date of June 30, 2021 (this appears to be a rolling date).
  • You can purchase gift cards in USD, CAD, EUR, or GBP, and then they can be used worldwide
  • Best Western gift cards are transferable
  • Gift cards can’t be used as a form of reservation guarantee, and you also can’t use them for pre-paid rates

Be careful at checkout!

Once you select a currency you will be redirected to a givex.com portal. It’s rather ghetto…

I learned the hard way that the gift card bonus isn’t always coded properly – when purchasing 3 x $100 e-gift cards, I was only awarded a single $20 bonus e-gift card. I then had to call in and have a ticket created to resolve the issue and be credited with my full $60 bonus.

Therefore, I would recommend doing separate transactions for each $100 gift card you purchase. This should credit you with the bonus more smoothly.

What can I say… Best Western is a budget hotel chain and their IT is on the same budget 😂
