Rewards Rates
The American Express Hilton Honors Surpass card earns Hilton Honor points for all purchases made on the card:
- 12 Hilton Honors points for every dollar spent on purchases at hotels and resorts within the Hilton portfolio.
- 6 Hilton Honors points for every dollar spent on restaurants, gas station purchases, and grocery purchases within the United States.
- 4 Hilton Honors points for every dollar spent on U.S. online retail purchases.
- 3 Hilton Honors points for every dollar spent on all other purchases.
Redeeming Hilton Honors Points
Hilton Honors points can be redeemed for stays at over 8,000 Hilton hotels, including luxury brands such as the Waldorf Astoria and the Conrad. The nightly point cost varies based on the hotel or resort, capping out at around 140,000 points per night for the most luxurious properties.
Hilton Honors members with at least Silver Elite status will receive the fifth night free on Hilton Honors points booking, which means making a five-night stay entirely on points is the best way to get the most value from your Hilton Honors points.
Benefits
Hilton Honors Gold Elite Status
As a cardholder, you will instantly receive Hilton Honors Gold Elite status. This status will persist for as long as you hold the Surpass card. This means that you will receive a free breakfast for two during eligible Hilton hotel stays, which is the biggest perk of Gold Elite status.
If the cardholder spends $40,000 USD in a calendar year, Hilton Honors Diamond Elite status will be granted through the end of the following calendar year.
Quarterly $50 Hilton Credit
Cardholders will also receive a quarterly $50 USD Hilton credit to be used at any Hilton property, up to $200 USD per calendar year.
Earn a Hilton Honors Free Night Certificate
American Express Hilton Honors Surpass cardholders can receive a Hilton Honors Free Night Certificate after spending $15,000 USD on the card in a calendar year. This certificate will be deposited in your Hilton Honors account and can be redeemed by calling in.
