Earning Hilton Honors Points
The American Express Hilton Honors Surpass Card earns Hilton Honors points for all purchases made on the card:
- 12 Hilton Honors points for every dollar spent on purchases at hotels and resorts within the Hilton portfolio.
- 6 Hilton Honors points for every dollar spent at U.S. restaurants, U.S. gas stations, and U.S. supermarkets.
- 4 Hilton Honors points for every dollar spent on U.S. online retail purchases.

Redeeming Hilton Honors Points
Hilton Honors points can be redeemed for stays at over 9,000 Hilton hotels, including luxury brands such as the Waldorf Astoria and the Conrad. The nightly point cost varies based on the hotel or resort, with the more aspirational and luxury properties costing upwards of 200,000+ Hilton Honors points per night.
Hilton Honors members with at least Silver Elite status will receive the fifth night free on Hilton Honors points booking, which means making a five-night stay entirely on points is the best way to get the most value from your Hilton Honors points.
Benefits
Hilton Honors Gold Elite Status
As a cardholder, you will instantly receive Hilton Honors Gold Elite status. This status will persist for as long as you hold the Surpass card. This means that you will receive a free breakfast for two during eligible Hilton hotel stays, which is the biggest perk of Hilton Gold status.
If the cardholder spends $40,000 USD in a calendar year, Hilton Honors Diamond Elite status will be granted through the end of the following calendar year.
Quarterly $50 Hilton Credit
Cardholders will also receive up to a quarterly $50 USD statement credit upon making an eligible charge at a Hilton Honors property, up to $200 per calendar year.
Earn a Hilton Honors Free Night Certificate
American Express Hilton Honors Surpass cardholders can receive a Hilton Honors Free Night Certificate after spending $15,000 USD on the card in a calendar year. This certificate will be deposited in your Hilton Honors account and can be redeemed by calling in.
