Earning British Airways Avios
The RBC British Airways Visa Infinite card earns British Airways Avios for all purchases made on the card:
- 3 Avios for every dollar spent on eligible British Airways purchases, such as flights and holiday packages.
- 2 Avios for every dollar spent on grocery, dining, and food delivery purchases.
- 1 Avios for every dollar spent on all other purchases.
Redeeming British Airways Avios
British Airways Avios is a valuable frequent flyer program currency that is best used when redeemed for award flights. Members can also combine Avios balances through the British Airways Household Account feature.
Since British Airways is part of the oneworld airline alliance, Avios can be redeemed for several desirable partner airlines, including options such as Qatar Airways QSuites, Japan Airlines business class, and Aer Lingus business class.
British Airways Avios can be transferred back and forth to the other frequent flyer programs at a 1:1 ratio:

Insurance Coverage
The RBC British Airways Visa Infinite card offers several types of insurance coverage:

- Rental car collision and loss damage coverage: Comprehensive coverage for cars up to $65,000 MSRP
- Delayed baggage insurance: $500 per person coverage for emergency purchases when your baggage is lost or delayed, up to an overall maximum of $2,500 per occurrence
- Flight delay insurance: $250 per occurrence and per covered person for reasonable and necessary expenses, up to an overall maximum of $500 per occurrence
- Hotel and motel burglary insurance: $2,500 coverage for stolen items per occurrence
- Purchase security: Coverage for accidental physical damage or theft for 90 days from the date of purchase (up to $50,000 per calendar year)
