Rewards Rates
The WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard accrues WestJet dollars (WJD) for all purchases made on the card:
- 2% back in WestJet dollars for all purchases of WestJet flights or WestJet vacation packages.
- 1.5% back in WestJet dollars for all other purchases.
Redeeming WestJet Dollars
One WestJet dollar is equal to one Canadian dollar when redeemed for flights or WestJet vacations packages within the WestJet network. To redeem, simply sign in to your WestJet account when booking a flight and you will have the option to redeem as much of your eligible WJD balance as possible.
WestJet dollars can only be applied against the base fare cost, not towards any of the additional taxes and fees that make up the remainder of the ticket cost.

Benefits
WestJet RBC World Elite cardholders are eligible to receive an annual companion fare. This WestJet companion voucher will be deposited into your WestJet Rewards account and gives you the opportunity to book a companion fare at a reduced rate when you pay full price for your own flight on the same itinerary. WestJet dollars can also be redeemed in conjunction with a companion voucher to save even more.
The voucher can be redeemed for the following destinations with the respective fees depending on your WestJet fare class:
- Travel within Canada or the continental USA – $119 in fees for UltraBasic/Econo/EconoFlex or $219 for Premium/PremiumFlex fares (plus taxes, fees, charges and other ATC)
- Travel to Hawaii, Mexico, or anywhere else in the WestJet network – $399 in fees for UltraBasic/Econo/EconoFlex or $499 for Premium/PremiumFlex fares (plus taxes, fees, charges and other ATC)
The cardholder will receive one free checked bag for themselves and up to 8 guests on WestJet flights, provided they are all booked on the same itinerary. This makes the card a great way to save on WestJet baggage fees depending on the fare class you booked for your WestJet flight.
