Earning American Express Membership Rewards
The American Express Business Gold Card earns Membership Rewards points for all purchases made on the card:
- 4 Membership Rewards points for every dollar spent on purchases in the top two categories per billing period for up to $150,000 in purchases per calendar year. Eligible categories include:
- Purchases at US media providers for advertising in select media (online, TV, radio)
- U.S. purchases made from electronic goods retailers and software & cloud system providers
- U.S. purchases at restaurants, including takeout and delivery
- U.S. purchases at gas stations
- Transit purchases (including trains, taxicabs, rideshare services, ferries, tolls, parking, buses, and subways)
- Monthly wireless telephone service charges charged directly from a wireless telephone service provider in the U.S.
- 3 Membership Rewards points for every dollar spent on flights and pre-paid hotels booked through Amex Travel.
- 1 Membership Rewards point for every dollar spent on all other purchases.

Benefits
Monthly $20 Flexible Business Credit
Cardholders will receive up to a monthly $20 USD statement credit, up to a total of $240 per year, when making a purchase with their card at FedEx, Grubhub, or office supply stores.
Walmart+ Membership
Cardholders who use their American Express Business Gold card to pay for a Walmart+ membership will receive up to a monthly $12.95 USD statement credit.
