Rewards Rates
The CIBC Aeroplan Visa Business credit card earns Aeroplan points (AP) for all purchases made on the card:
- 2 Aeroplan Points for every dollar spent on Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations purchases.
- 1.5 Aeroplan Points for every dollar spent on shipping, internet, cable, phone services, travel, and dining purchases.
- 1 Aeroplan Point for every dollar spent on all other purchases.

Aeroplan points can also be redeemed for hotels, car rentals, merchandise, and gift cards. We advise against redeeming your points for these options as the value is far below what you can receive when booking flight redemptions.
Benefits
When flying on a flight operated by Air Canada, cardholders are eligible to receive a free first checked bag on Air Canada flights. This benefit extends to up to 8 guests who are traveling on the cardholder’s itinerary and is a great way to save on Air Canada baggage fees.
Cardholders will earn 1,000 status qualifying miles (SQM) and 1 status qualifying segment (SQS) for every $5,000 spent on eligible purchases. Both the miles and the segments earned can help boost Aeroplan members to the next status level.
Cardholders will receive 1 Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge guest pass for every $10,000 in spend on the card, up to four passes for $40,000 in spend within an anniversary year. For the average user, this is a benefit that is not worth pursuing due to the astronomically high spending requirement.
