The WestJet RBC Mastercard earns WestJet dollars and gives cardholders an annual companion fare to be used for travel within Canada and the United States.
Rewards Rates
The WestJet RBC Mastercard accrues WestJet dollars (WJD) for all purchases made on the card:
- 1.5% back in WestJet dollars for all purchases of WestJet flights or WestJet vacation packages.
- 1% back in WestJet dollars for all other purchases.
Redeeming WestJet Dollars
One WestJet dollar is equal to one Canadian dollar when redeemed for flights or WestJet vacations packages within the WestJet network. To redeem, simply sign in to your WestJet account when booking a flight and you will have the option to redeem as much of your eligible WJD balance as possible.
WestJet dollars can only be applied against the base fare cost, not towards any of the additional taxes and fees that make up the remainder of the ticket cost.

This WestJet companion voucher will be deposited into your WestJet Rewards account and gives you the opportunity to book a companion fare at a reduced rate when you pay full price for your own flight on the same itinerary. WestJet dollars can also be redeemed in conjunction with a companion voucher to save even more.
The voucher from the RBC WestJet Mastercard can be redeemed for the following destinations with the respective fees:
- Travel within Canada or the continental USA – $199 in fees for Basic/Econo/EconoFlex or $299 for Premium/PremiumFlex fares (plus taxes, fees, charges and other ATC)
