Amex Front of the Line®: Your Ticket to Exclusive Events and Presales

Love special event VIP benefits and concert pre-sales? American Express Cardholders have exclusive access to ‘Front Of The Line’ and Amex Reserved tickets. Unlike other flashy card benefits, the Front of the Line program is open to all American Express Cardholders.

What Is Front of the Line® by American Express?

Front of the Line is a program for American Express cardmembers to access ticket presales and reserved tickets just for subscribers. The program competes with similar card benefits at other banks like RBCxMusic. Unlike other card-specific benefits, Front of the Line is available to all American Express cardholders, regardless of which card they carry. To subscribe to the benefit, you need to register and fill out a form as shown below.

Front of the Line also enables exclusive, priority-like access to cardmember only entrances and lounges. Though the venues that offer this benefit are all located in Toronto.

The program also has a US-issued Amex cardholder counterpart, Amex Experiences, however they are not exactly interchangeable with each other with some differences.

How Does Front of the Line® Work?

Unlike most other American Express cardholder perks, Amex Front of the Line requires registration to get exclusive access to events. However, registration is really simple, with just a short form to sign up for email notifications through this link.

There is an option to select “No” as a current American Express card member, however when paying for Front of the Line tickets, the booking page will verify that you are paying with an American Express card.

How to Use Your Front of the Line® Benefits (Step-by-Step)

First, you want to register for Front of the Line through the email newsletter subscription link. Once subscribed, you will receive notifications of pre-sale and reserved tickets available for Front of the Line subscribers.

For larger labels and artists, there might be a limited time window to access tickets.

Once you hit the “Get Tickets” button, you will be redirected to a ticket site such as Ticketmaster where final booking and payment would be completed.

As expected, you cannot enter a non-American Express card to complete the booking.

What Types of Events Can You Access?

For the majority of the events offered through Front of the Line®, subscribers will get access to ticket presales for events ahead of the general public. Events include concerts for mid to highly popular stars, theatre performances, music festivals, and even racing events.

Concerts are the main focus for the Front of the Line program in Canada, with both pre-sale tickets and reserved tickets allocated for Front of the Line subscribers.

Venue Benefits

For some venues, you can get exclusive front gate access away from the public gates. Just show your American Express card and you can access the exclusive cardmember entrances.

Unfortunately, all three event venues are located in Toronto, which means no perks for events in any other Canadian municipalities.

At Rogers Stadium, you can bring 3 guests through the priority American Express Cardmember Entrance at Gate 1. There is also an American Express Lounge where you can bring only 1 of those guests for refreshments and small bites.

You can also bring one guest to the American Express Cardmember Entrance and the American Express Cardmember Lounge at the RBC Amphitheatre/Budweiser Stage.

There is also an American Express Cardmember Entrance at HISTORY for one cardmember and one guest. American Express notes that the entrance may be limited so it may not be open for all events. There is also no exclusive American Express lounge at this venue.

Front of the Line® Presale vs. Reserved Tickets — What’s the Difference?

Presale tickets are a specific amount of tickets that are available to American Express Front of the Line subscribers before the general public. Although similar programs exist at other banking institutions, not all will have the same artists for pre-sale tickets. If there are unsold tickets, they will be released with the public/general admission on their release date. Each performance or event will display a set pre-sale start and end time, typically a day before general release.

Reserved tickets on the other hand are tickets that are held exclusively for Amex cardholders even after the general admission tickets have been released. These are in limited quantities and may sell out fast depending on the market and artist.

Amex Experiences App (Canada)

American Express launched a new Amex Experiences App in April 2026 for Canadian cardholders. The app mainly displays exclusive events to American Express cardholders, as well as a short summary of the perks that Front of the Line enables access to. At the moment, it is very barebones but I would expect American Express to fill the app more with information mirroring the website.

However, when I signed in into my Amex account, it only detected my Canadian American Express Platinum Card. I’m not sure if they’ll be adding other cards in the future, but the event calendar tab seems to be only dining experiences so far for Platinum cardholders.

Front of the Line® in Canada vs. the US — Is There a Difference?

American Express has a similar system for US cardholders called Amex Experiences. It runs very similarly to Amex Front of the Line in Canada, however, there is a lot more event variety and significantly more venues with Amex cardholder-only access. More importantly, venues are spread across the country instead of just one major city. There are also event perks available such as dedicated merch lanes, pop ups, and even exclusive offers for spending at events.

At Coachella, US American Express cardholders were able to use perks in the Coachella app. Simply entering your card number and date of birth in the Amex Perks button at the top of the home screen and you are able to access exclusive benefits.

Benefits included a spend $120 get $20 back offer, free standard shipping for merch, exclusive merch, a photo booth in collaboration with Marriott Bonvoy, and a dedicated card member only lane.

Is Front of the Line® Actually Worth It?

In most cases, Front of the Line is free to all American Express cardholders. So if you like going to concerts or you want to know when tickets drop for specific artists or sporting events, Front of the Line would be worth it for you. Even as a person who doesn’t really go to concerts, I’ve subscribed to the emails just to see who’s in town or what’s upcoming.

For US American Express cardholders, there are a lot more exclusive perks and advantages with Amex Experiences so I would highly recommend taking a look at the events. There are a lot more sports experiences as well, including the NFL, NBA, championship tennis, US Open Golf, and even F1. There are also exclusive benefits that are available to Platinum and Centurion cardholders only as well. Check out the Amex Experiences page to see all the events and venue benefits.

Tips to Get the Most Out of Front of the Line®

If you live in Toronto or you’re planning to watch your favourite events or artists at one of the venues with exclusive American Express Cardholder entrances or lounges, make sure to bring your physical card as they will check at the gates.
