My wife and I stayed at the Westin Verasa Napa during her birthday trip to Napa in 2026. While there were some elements of the stay that could have been better, the staff provided an excellent birthday treat, and my Nightly Upgrade Award was cleared for a suite.
Booking & Check-in
I booked this stay at the Westin Verasa Napa on an industry professional rate, and sadly, cash or “cash equivalent” points are by far the best way to book this property. Marriott Bonvoy points have an average value of about 0.5 Cents USD at this location. But when you’re in a tourist hot spot, it’s not uncommon to see hotels price themselves this way.

When we checked into the property, I was asked if I wanted breakfast or points as a welcome gift. Of course, we chose the breakfast benefit for Platinum Elite members, but it’s not the most powerful breakfast benefit at this Westin property compared to many others I’ve visited.

Location
The Westin Verasa Napa is well located, right next to the Napa Wine Train and a very short drive to the main strip of restaurants in downtown Napa.
Parking
Parking is very generous at the Westin Verasa Napa, with valet being included in the cost of accommodation.

Room – Premium, 1 Bedroom Suite
As mentioned in the preamble, I applied 2 Nightly Upgrade Awards (NUA’s) to this booking and was thrilled when I got the notification that my request was approved. Sadly, the rooms on the lower floors of this property are a bit dark, but it was still nice to have a lot of extra space.

I used the chat function of the Marriott App to let the staff know we were celebrating a birthday during our stay, and when we arrived, there was a small bottle of sparkling wine and a box of chocolates. It was a great touch!

In this suite, the kitchen was similar to a timeshare-style property and was complete with a stove and a full-size fridge.

Coffee and water were provided, and there was even a 6-seat dining table in the suite.

Opposite the kitchen was a powder room that included an extra shower. If you needed to host two couples or extra family members in the room, it definitely has the capacity.

The living area is above average in size as well, with plenty of seating. While it’s nice to have the extra space, I would’ve liked more natural light and a refurbished room.

The balcony was also a nice amenity, but the views and natural light are better next door at the River Terrace Inn.

The bedroom felt quite dated but had plenty of space and a small closet where you’ll find the 2nd robe, since the first is hanging in the bathroom.

The bathroom is large, but it would’ve been nice to have a double vanity. The addition of a standalone tub was great!

Restaurants
Bank – Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Breakfast

As mentioned earlier, the breakfast benefit is quite weak here compared to many other Westins I’ve stayed at. You’ve got the option to put $20 per person towards menu items at Bank or take a continental breakfast from the bins at the restaurant entrance.

On our first morning, we opted for the restaurant breakfast, and we were delighted to find that the breakfast sandwich included a Model Bakery English muffin. If you’ve visited Napa but not had a Model Bakery English muffin, you’re missing out! We’ll even bring bags of them home after our trip, so this was nice to see.
Sadly, the English muffin was clearly frozen before being served, which doesn’t make much sense, as Model Bakery has a location just steps away. In fact, we opted to just eat at the Model Bakery for breakfast on the 2nd morning.
With that preamble out of the way, the breakfast burrito I ordered was fantastic, and the sandwich was above average, even though the English muffin didn’t live up to the hype. What kept us away the next morning was the cost. Even with $40 off the bill, we still owed $26, which was shocking. For $26, we can easily get the Model Bakery breakfast sandwiches, which are superior, and better cappuccinos.

La Toque

La Toque is a steakhouse featured in the Michelin Guide. We didn’t dine during our stay.
Facilities
Fitness Center
I didn’t visit the fitness center during my stay, but keeping with the Westin Wellness branding, they do have a Westin Workout area.

Pool
The saltwater pool is a great addition to the property, and there’s a hot tub in the same area.

While we didn’t hang around the pool during the peak of the day, I’m sure the cabanas provide excellent shelter from the sun.

Outdoor Seating & Firepits
After a day of tasting wine and zipping around some excellent driving roads in Napa, we really enjoyed sitting on the outdoor terrace, sipping our favorite bottles, and stargazing.

Conclusion
The Westin Verasa Napa is a great full-service property, but it’s starting to show its age. If having access to a pool and fitness center is important to you, it’s likely a better fit than the River Terrace Inn next door. However, if you’re looking for a modern room and don’t care about the potential for a full kitchen, I think the River Terrace Inn wins out.
When we visit Napa again, I’m certainly hoping we can spend some more time at the River Terrace!
