Review: Delta Hotels Whistler Village Suites

The Delta Whistler Village Suites is one of the few “points” hotels available in Whistler. I stayed here as part of a 5-night hotel-hopping adventure during the 2024/2025 ski season that also included stays at the Westin Whistler and the Hilton Whistler Resort. The Delta is the least expensive among these three, and its price does reflect the amenities you receive.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at my review of my stay at the Delta Whistler Village Suites.

Booking

I booked this stay with a Marriott Bonvoy 35K Free Night Award that was topped up with 15,000 points, which was excellent value as I was able to book directly into a corner suite. Offering suites appears to be standard practice at this hotel, as I was able to find many dates as low as 40,000 points with the same ability to book directly into a suite.

The hotel provides excellent value when redeeming Marriott Bonvoy free night certificates and generally good value for your Marriott Bonvoy points, as redemptions hit around the 1 cent per point mark. Take into account the ability to book straight into a suite, and you’re well ahead of 1 cent per point!

Don’t forget that free night certificates worth 35k Bonvoy points are very easy to earn for Canadians, thanks to the American Express Marriott Bonvoy card and the American Express Marriott Bonvoy Business card.

Check-in

Arriving at the hotel, I was greeted by a helpful concierge who took my bags on a dolly for me. The entrance to the hotel is quite beautiful.

The check-in area is nicely decorated with some modern art of mountains, a large sitting area, and a designated Marriott Bonvoy member check-in desk.

Unfortunately, this hotel doesn’t have a relationship with the restaurant attached to the building, and there’s no club lounge, so the Marriott Bonvoy elite breakfast benefit is quite weak. As a Titanium Elite member, I was given the choice of 750 points or $10 USD food and beverage credit to use at the coffee cart located in the lobby.

I originally opted for the points, but then decided to exchange that for the dining voucher in the morning after I saw the prices were somewhat reasonable.

I also had my skis to check in, and I was able to take care of that easily at the pro shop, which is just across from the elevators. It was seamless to grab them again in the morning.

Location

The Delta is located in the ‘new’ village that was part of the expansion for the 2010 Olympics. As such, it’s a bit far away from the Gondolas and mountain access.

There is a shuttle that runs frequently, so you can avoid the long walks in snow gear. Usually, the shuttle doesn’t stop at Blackcomb, but if you ask nicely and it’s not busy, the friendly drivers are happy to make the detour.

Parking

On-site parking at the Delta Whistler is $32/day, or you can valet your car for $40/day. However, with the shuttle service, I don’t think it’s worth it to have a rental car. If you’re driving up in your own vehicle, you can find cheaper parking elsewhere in the village after dropping your bags.

Room – 1 Bedroom Suite, 1 King, Sofa bed, Resort view, Balcony, Fireplace

As far as room size and quality go, the 1 Bedroom Suite at the Delta Hotels Whistler Village Suites was the best room we had during our hop around Whistler hotels. It’s newly renovated, and very well done!

The room layout didn’t exactly match the images online, so maybe we got a further upgrade from the suite we booked, but we were in one of the corner suites which was lovely.

The entrance of the suite almost gives off escape room vibes with the amount of doors present, but it’s for a good reason, as this unit also includes a full washer/dryer!

Next to the laundry is the bathroom, which has entrances from the bedroom and the front hallway. The setup is quite conducive to a shared accommodation for a family or two couples.

The shower isn’t the same “Marriott Standard” that I’m used to, with a rainfall and handheld shower head, but the addition of a tub is a nice feature. The amenities are the same as all other Delta hotels.

The master bedroom is warmly designed with floor-to-ceiling windows and inviting lighting. The safe is located in the nightstand, and there are plenty of power outlets, even though the outlets lack USB-A and USB-C connectivity. There is a relatively small TV wall-mounted in the bedroom, but we didn’t use the TV at all during our stay.

Between the luggage rack, drawers, and closet, there is plenty of storage. A nice addition is the robes, which aren’t something we always see at Delta properties.

Moving from the bedroom to the living space, it’s a beautifully designed space. On top of having a balcony, the views out the window of the village are picturesque and there’s even a small office space just below the TV.

The balcony is a lovely space with excellent views that got even better in the morning after the clouds lifted.

The ‘office space’ was a bit makeshift, but it was certainly better than having nothing. Also on the desk were some Canadian wine options which were quite overpriced.

The final feature of the room is the full kitchen. In retrospect, this was probably the most complete room for the money that we stayed in while we hopped around. I don’t know if I would say the same thing if we couldn’t book directly into a suite, though.

The kitchen is complete with seating for 4 and quite literally everything you would need to cook a meal.

Coffee and tea are a bit hidden, but the hotel does a good job of signifying where to find them. Water bottles are also replaced with a refillable jug, and the water is easily accessible just down the hall.

We also received a welcome letter and an amenity! So, even though the lack of a hot breakfast from a restaurant was disappointing, the Delta Whistler delivered on many other key hospitality points.

Restaurants

Perk & Pedal

The Perk & Pedal is the official name for the coffee cart in the front lobby. While I appreciate the hotel offering food onsite, this really isn’t in line with Marriott standards. I was able to grab coffee in the room and then use my approximately $14 Canadian voucher with the Elite Status to snag a breakfast burrito and oatmeal in the morning before taking the shuttle.

In the lobby, the hotel also had a flavored water dispenser, which is something I hadn’t seen before.

Facilities

Fitness Center

There is a fitness facility present at Delta Whistler, but I didn’t visit it as I was getting enough exercise on the slopes!

Pool

The pool is a highlight of the Delta Whistler. Complete with an indoor/outdoor section and both indoor and outdoor hot tubs, it rivals the Westin Whistler and takes the cake versus the Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa.

The pool area is complete with towels and a sauna.

Conclusion

The Delta Whistler was a beautiful place to spend an evening and get some rest, although it lacks a proper breakfast restaurant. Considering there are full kitchens in the suites, you could presumably be your own breakfast cook in the morning and enjoy the largest rooms available for booking with points in Whistler Village.

Overall, I would stay here again, but try for a few nights in a row!
