The Frugal Flyer team is excited to host our third Miles & Pints networking event of 2025! This will be the first to be held in Calgary, Alberta. Read on for the details and learn how you can secure your tickets to this limited-capacity private event.
Calgary Miles & Pints Meetup
Join Reed, Josh, Kirin, and Frugal Flyer readers from Calgary and beyond on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, at Trolley 5 Brewpub.
This will be a relatively casual evening for networking and discussion about all things miles, points, and credit card rewards. There will not be a formal presentation, but instead, a networking session where you can connect and learn from the Frugal Flyer team and other miles and points enthusiasts.
| What | Frugal Flyer’s Miles & Pints Calgary Meetup |
| When | September 27, 2025 – 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM |
| Where | Trolley 5 Brewpub 728 17th Avenue SW Calgary, Alberta T2S 0B7 |
We welcome miles & points enthusiasts of all knowledge levels to join us, and hope to see you there! Tickets are required, so secure your spot here.
The Frugal Flyer team will be providing each attendee one drink ticket good for any drink on the menu up to a value of $15. Aside from that, attendees are responsible for their own food and drink. Remember to bring your favorite credit card that earns a good multiplier on dining purchases!
Trolley 5 Brewpub – The Venue
Trolley 5 is a local community brewpub inspired by the Beltline’s original name: No.5 Trolley Line. They aim to bring the community together through “great food, beer and friendship”, serving a wide selection of pub fare and their own craft brews. You can view their drink menu and food menu if you’re curious about their offerings. We are particularly excited about their dim sum selection.
For this event, we’re pleased to have secured the private space in the back taproom of Trolley 5. This will provide a great setting for attendees to mingle, as well as our own dedicated bartender/service staff for convenience.

Trolley 5 is located at 728 17th Avenue SW in downtown Calgary. The restaurant is easily accessible in a vibrant and central location. If you are looking for a night out after the event to continue the conversations, it won’t be hard to find another venue close by to keep the night going.
Who Should Attend & Why?
If you are interested in miles and points, whether you just started or have been involved for years, attending meetups is one of the best ways to build your network, knowledge, and friendships. Connecting in person is the best way to accelerate your learning, as what is shared online is often only the surface of how deep this hobby goes.
In fact, Frugal Flyer was started from friendships that formed from a local meetup that happened in 2019, and Reed and Josh maintain close contact with many friends that we have built from miles and points meetups over the years. Without these relationships and the knowledge we have gained and shared, we definitely wouldn’t be able to earn as many points as we have and travel as much as we do.
Simply put, in-person events are the best way to learn more and to have engaging discussions about this hobby we all love. No matter your experience level, we hope to see you at our meetup!
Secure Your Tickets Now
Tickets will start at $20 per person, with three tiers to reward those who sign up early:
- 10 tickets for sale at $20 (+tax)
- 10 tickets for sale at $25 (+tax)
- 10 tickets for sale at $30 (+tax)
This cost is primarily to ensure we have accurate numbers for attendance. We believe events like these should be accessible to all to build the miles and points community. The funds collected are used to secure the private event space, and as mentioned, everyone’s first beverage will be on us!
The event sign-up is managed through Eventbrite. If you’re interested in attending, please purchase your tickets at the following link:
We have a limit of 30 attendees. Thus, we recommend buying your tickets as soon as possible to guarantee your spot, and also to save with the ‘early-bird’ pricing. We are expecting to hit the maximum attendance capacity.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to leave a comment below. Otherwise, we’ll see you at Trolley 5 on September 27th!
