I stayed at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House with my wife during a quick EU/UK getaway in the summer of 2025. We started our journey with an excellent SAS A330 Business Class flight to Copenhagen, then flew to London for only 9,000 Avios and $1 CAD per person.
The JW Marriott Grosvenor House delivered on every level, even if the interior design is a bit dated. Read on for my review of this gorgeous property.
Booking
We stayed at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House London on an industry travel professional rate, but there is decent redemption value for Marriott Bonvoy points. If you’re able to find a points rate around 100,000 Bonvoy points per night, this is a great hotel to spend an 85K free night certificate.

Lucky for us, we were proactively upgraded to a Deluxe Suite about 2 days before arrival!

While this was appreciated, I always prefer a nicer view to a bit of extra room, and this suite had a courtyard view, which wasn’t very inspiring, as you’ll see later on.
Check-in
We arrived at our hotel quite early, around 10:00 AM local time, and to our surprise, our room was ready! Not only that, but the staff invited us to enjoy the last hour of breakfast in the executive lounge. It was a fantastic perk we weren’t expecting, since you’re not entitled to breakfast on the day you arrive.

The lobby desk is very grand and is striking upon entering the hotel.

The lobby itself always has a fresh flower display with details as to what it’s made of.

Location
The JW Marriott Grosvenor House is located in the Mayfair neighborhood of London.
Mayfair is extremely high-end, and it was common to see supercars parked at our hotel and around the area.

We took the Elizabeth line from Heathrow (which is a much better option than the Heathrow Express, by the way) and it took about an hour to get to our hotel. This property is also right across the street from Hyde Park, which is London’s pseudo equivalent of New York’s Central Park.
Parking
If you choose to drive in London, you have more patience than I do! If you want to park at the JW, it will cost you 60 Pounds per night for valet.
Room – Deluxe Suite, 1 King
Immediately after stepping into the room, you can feel the space, which is something to be said for a prime-time location in one of the world’s largest cities!

Immediately to the left, you’ll find a French door closet packed with amenities, including one of the two robes, a branded umbrella, a luggage rack, a safe, extra linens, and a complete shoe kit with a shoe horn and a shining brush.

The view from the closet is of the very comfy king bed with lush bedding.

The bedside was ready, with slippers on the floor and bottles of water on one side.

In the evening, the staff had left a few chocolates at the bedside for turn-down service.

Looking into the rest of the room, you’ll find the sitting room with a couch, a desk, the mini bar, a second TV, and coffee and tea.

Sadly, the room had a view of the central courtyard, so it wasn’t an excellent view from the windows. The desk had a ton of information about the hotel and the surrounding area, but the custom colour palette really stood out to me.

The sitting room is really cozy, and the minibar and coffee are just under the TV in the dresser. You could tell everything in the room was of the highest quality. It really feels more like a Ritz or St Regis than a JW property.

As expected, the snacks and drinks in the mini-bar were quite expensive, but Nespresso coffee and bottled Irish milk were an excellent touch to the complimentary amenities!

The bathroom was also exquisitely decorated, with marble everywhere and plenty of space. An attention to detail I loved was the towels placed on the warmer, ready to be warmed!

The bathroom amenities are provided by Aromatherapy, which is the staple JW Marriott brand.
Considering the plethora of skin care brands that call London home, it seems like a missed opportunity to incorporate a local flair. But perhaps that’s the purpose of the Autograph brand.

Restaurants & Bars
Executive Lounge
The Executive Lounge at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House is potentially one of the best I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. While the Starwood loyalty program was before my time in miles and points, I’ve heard plenty of stories and this certainly feels similar to that.
If you have Executive Lounge access, you can attend for breakfast in the morning, afternoon snacks between 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm, and cocktails with canapes between 6:00 pm and 9:30 pm. The official terms say you’re allowed to bring in one guest, but in practice, I don’t think the staff is very strict on this.

The entrance to the executive lounge is up a small set of marble stairs next to the elevators. Another landmark to watch for is the flower display. You’ll need your room key to access the lounge.

There’s a lovely amount of seating, and I never had a problem finding a comfy place to sit while enjoying some refreshments.

We attended both breakfast and the evening canapés spread and found everything to be super high quality. While it was not as extravagant as the JW Marriott Nairobi, it’s probably the closest experience I’ve had to that.

The Park Room
The Park Room is the JW Marriott’s in-house tea room. We didn’t visit except for pictures, but it’s a beautifully designed establishment.

JW Steakhouse
Located right next to the main entrance of the hotel, JW Steakhouse is open for all three meals of the day and boasts iconic New York-style high-end dining.

Park Lane Market
Park Lane Market is a quick-service convenience store with coffee and other sweet treats. They also have a small selection of trinkets to purchase and some of the JW Steakhouse’s legendary cheesecake for takeaway.

The Red Bar
We opted to spend our evening in London on a food tour, and then, with our complimentary cocktails in the lounge, didn’t find the need to visit The Red Bar. But it’s an on-site cocktail bar specializing in mixology.

Facilities
Fitness Center
The JW Grosvenor House does have a fitness center that appears to be well-equipped, but we didn’t visit it during our one-night stay, which went by all too quickly.

Conclusion
The JW Marriott Grosvenor House is a luxurious city hotel that punches above its brand name. I often find JW Marriott properties over-deliver compared to their “light luxury” counterparts of Le Meridien, Autograph Collection, and Westin. With great elite recognition, Marriott loyalists will find plenty of value if they choose to make the Grosvenor House home during a stay in London.
