Casablanca, the major airport hub of Morocco, was the first stop on our trip and served as a natural place to spend a few days adjusting to the new time zone and local culture.

Located in the heart of Casablanca’s city center, the Casablanca Marriott Hotel was the clear choice for our short two night stay. Its proximity to the city’s key sights mattered far more to us than a lengthy list of amenities. Opened in 2022, it was also one of the newer additions to Casablanca’s hotel scene. I was particularly curious to put its M Club Lounge to the test as it was highly regarded by fellow travelers.

Read on for my review of the Casablanca Marriott Hotel.

Booking & Check-in

I was fortunate to book the Casablanca Marriott Hotel at a favorable industry rate of just over 1,000 Moroccan Dirhams (MAD) per night for 3 nights in August, 2025. The regular rate for this property is closer to 2,000 MAD per night or 20,000 to 25,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night, which isn’t a terrible redemption value.

The check-in desk is located immediately upon entering the front door.  Check in went smoothly. A hotel front house manager introduced themselves to us and we were notified of our upgrade to the Executive Suite. However, because we were early, our room was not quite ready yet. A hotel staff took us to the M Club lounge to relax and enjoy some snacks and refreshments while we waited.

Once our room was ready, a staff member came and brought us directly to our room.

Location

The Casablanca Marriott Hotel is situated at 100 Avenue des FAR, Casablanca 20000, Morocco, right in the heart of Casablanca’s commercial city center. It is within walking distance of the Old Medina, Central Market, and the city’s famous Art Deco buildings. The palm tree-lined boulevard the hotel sits on is very much the pulse of central Casablanca, which made it an easy choice for a short and busy stay.

Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) is about 32 km away, or roughly 40 minutes by car. The hotel does not offer a complimentary shuttle, but a private transfer can be arranged through the hotel for 650 MAD one way. We opted to arrange our own transportation, which is worth considering given how straightforward the options are — for more detail on getting around, see our Morocco Transportation Guide.

Getting to the Hotel

For those arriving by train, the Casa Port fast train station is only about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, making it a convenient option if you’re coming from the airport via the ONCF rail network.

Parking

Complimentary on-site parking is available to guests in a secure parking garage.

Room – Executive Suite, 1 Bedroom Suite, 1 King, City view

As previously mentioned, we were upgraded to an Executive Suite, number 1019 on the 10th floor, which was highly appreciated.

Room 1019 – Executive 1 Bedroom Suite, King bed, City view

The suite and its two spacious rooms were well laid out, with light hardwood floors throughout and a clean, contemporary design that incorporated subtle Moroccan touches in the artwork and textiles. The geometric patterned rugs in deep navy and gold were a nice nod to local craftsmanship without feeling overdone.

The Executive Suite at the Casablanca Marriott Hotel

The living area within the bedroom was generously sized, featuring a grey tweed sofa, two armchairs, a coffee table, and a wall-mounted flat screen TV on a minimalist black metal console.

A work desk and lamp offered a dedicated spot to sit and work. For a city hotel, this was a lot of room.

Work desk, sofa, and television in the bedroom of the Executive Suite

The bedroom featured a large king bed with a warm wood headboard and matching wall sconces, flanked by a pair of burnt orange accent chairs. Four Moroccan-inspired framed prints hung above the headboard — another tasteful local touch. Bedside charging was well-equipped with USB ports and a power panel, alongside a complimentary water bottle and in-room dining QR code.

In the hallway leading to the bathroom and water closet, there was a storage closet containing a safe, ironing board, and several clothes hangers.

Separated by a door and hallway was a separate living and dining room with another television and sofa. This room was also connected to the main entrance hallway of the suite. There was a small four-seat table and pendant light which rounded out the common space nicely.

We received a nice welcome amenity waiting for us on the dining room table, which consisted of some dry pastries, a heaping basket of fruit, rose petals in a cup of water, and two water bottles.

The credenza in this room featured a Nespresso machine, electric kettle, a selection of Nespresso capsules presented in a gift box, complimentary bottled water, and an empty mini-fridge was tucked into the cabinetry below.

A genuinely nice touch was the traditional Moroccan mint tea set with ceramic tagine-shaped vessels, a silver teapot, and a card explaining the ritual of preparing and serving Moroccan tea. It’s the kind of detail that actually makes sense in context, and we appreciated it.

Bathroom

The bathroom was marble throughout — white Carrara on the walls and floors — and felt appropriately luxurious. It was ensuite to the bedroom and contained a walk-in rain shower with Bamford toiletries, a deep soaking tub set into the marble surround, and a dark granite vanity with a large framed mirror and magnifying mirror.

The marble bathroom, rain shower, and soaking tub

The toilet and bidet were housed in their own separate water closet located across from the storage wardrobe, off the main hallway of the suite, a layout that works well when two people are getting ready at the same time.

Notably, the vanity design and function felt slightly older relative to the rest of the room, with a more traditional style that doesn’t quite match the modern aesthetic of the suite. Not a problem, but simply noticeable.

Overall, the suite was a strong offering, well above what I expected for a standard Marriott property at this price point, and the Moroccan design details gave it a sense of place that a lot of city hotels get wrong.

Restaurants

M Club Lounge

The M Club lounge was located on the 4th floor and served as a staple of our stay, offering a place to relax and rehydrate in between outings.  I always appreciate a Marriott that has one of these lounges.

This particular M Club lounge was well-appointed and spacious, with plenty of seating options available.

There were a few different complimentary beverage options available, including pop, water, and a gourmet automatic coffee machine. Outside of hors d’oeuvre hours, there were still always some sort of light Moroccan snacks available.

Throughout our stay, I always found extremely prompt and attentive service from the staff members in the lounge.

Hors D’oeuvre Hour

From 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM was the hors d’oeuvre hour, where complimentary beer and wine were offered along with some light snacks, pasta, cous cous and tagine.

The complimentary alcoholic beverages included white and red wine and Stork beer.

There was ample food available during these happy hours and you could easily make a light meal out of the offerings if you were looking to save money.

Moroccan Dining Menu

An exclusively Moroccan dining menu was available to guests who wanted to eat in the M Club Lounge.

We took a gander at this menu for lunch one day during our stay, but unfortunately decided we were feeling some North American food and went to the Greatroom to eat lunch there instead.

Greatroom

The Greatroom was located on Level 0, next to the reception and lobby area. It was open from 7:00 AM until 11:00 PM with breakfast and lunch offerings, as well as a lobby bar.

Marriott Bonvoy Elite Breakfast

Breakfast was offered in the great room from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. The breakfast was set up as a buffet along with an a la carte menu for some hot items.

The buffet items contained a good selection to choose from:

I also enjoyed a few of the a la carte items including the eggs florentine and chocolate banana pancakes.

Overall, the quality of food was decent to above average. I noticed the buffet quality seemed to be a bit better the first morning compared to the second, when the potatoes were a bit dry, and items had been a bit more picked over. Perhaps this was just due to the time of morning. In any case, that’s what the a la carte menu is for!

Lunch

The Greathall had a lunch service offering a Moroccan and International menu.

We had lunch here one day of our stay and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the beverages. The mojito was refreshing and the whiskey sour was also great.

I had the sushi rolls while my partner had the assortment of briouates. Both were just okay.

BaB Restaurant

BaB Restaurant and Terrace are located on the 3rd floor. Intended as an all-day restaurant serving international and Moroccan cuisine, BaB was not open during our stay unfortunately.

I believe it is undergoing renovations, as their Instagram account shows they were open as far back as 2023, including hosting parties with live DJs on the rooftop terrace. Hopefully they are open again soon!

La Braise d’Or Steakhouse

La Braise d’Or is a French steakhouse specializing in flame-cooked dishes. It is open from 6:30 PM to 12:00 AM.

We did not get a chance to dine here during our stay, but it looked like a nice restaurant worth checking out if you have time.

Facilities

Fitness Center

The fitness center was located on level 3. It was small but modern and clean with Technogym equipment that included treadmills, stationary bikes, elliptical, stairmaster, and a few isolation machines.

There were two sets of free weights available for use. There was also a station with complimentary water and fruit, a nice touch to any hotel fitness center.

Hammam Spa

A Hammam spa is a traditional Middle Eastern and North African bathing ritual focused on steam, exfoliation, and cleansing.

While it was not yet open at the time of our stay, we noticed a sign and door for a Hammam Spa, located on level 3 next to the fitness center.

This will be a great addition to the property when it’s completed in the future.

Conclusion

The Casablanca Marriott Hotel delivered exactly what we needed for a short, busy stop in the city. The central location is hard to beat, the Executive Suite was well above expectations for the price point, and the M Club Lounge made a genuine difference to the stay, both as a place to decompress between outings and as a solid option for breakfast and evening drinks. The BaB Restaurant and Hammam Spa being unavailable during our visit were minor disappointments, but neither impacted the overall experience meaningfully.

If you’re spending a few days in Casablanca and want a reliable, centrally located Marriott property that punches above its category, this one is worth considering, particularly if you hold Bonvoy elite status and can take advantage of the lounge access.
