Review: Vought Rewards Black Card

As a refined gentleman, I am of course up to date with Vought’s American Hero, which we all follow keenly here at Frugal Flyer. Congratulations are in order to #Homelight. Methinks there might be wedding bells in the future for Starlight and Homelander…?

In celebration of such potential nuptials, we must of course this week further celebrate the brilliance of Vought Industries and their love for their customers by reviewing their Vought Rewards Black credit card.

Welcome Bonus

The Vought Black card is favored by Black Noir himself for a reason: the appearance may be sleek and stealthy, but the benefits are some of the deadliest in the industry.

After spending a mere $6,000 dollars in the first 90 days of opening an account at a Vought Credit Union (a model they use to help democratize and decentralize finance), you can receive 100,000 Vought Rewards+ Points.

This welcome bonus is therefore worth in excess of $2200!

This is an all-time high bonus to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Soldier Boy’s heroic demise in that nuclear reactor. I shall have my brethren pray for him.

However, as a true Black Card, the Vought Rewards Black Card is invitation-only. You’ll need to get a

Vought has also unveiled that, as the official Brand Ambassador of the Vought Black Rewards Card, Starlight will be providing hand-written notes to every new cardmember they invite.

And for those #Starlovers out there, each note will be kissed by her gracious lips.

For the unsentimental brutes amongst you rapscallions, there is also the choice of auctioning off one of those kissed envelopes on eBay. I hear the trading market price is in excess of $10,000….

Benefits

No Foreign Transaction Fees

Vought believes in a safer world that brings us all closer together. There are no foreign transaction fees.

G-Men™ Lounge Access

The  flagship G-Men™ lounge was launched a few years ago to great fanfare in Denver. Everything within the lounges, from the service to the upholstery, was made to Mr. Godolkin’s exacting standards.

Fortunately, more G-Men™ lounges will be coming soon to such locales as Atlanta, New York-JFK, Tokyo-Narita, Dubai, and Batman. Flash your Vought Black Rewards card for immediate access after security.

$100 Vought Restaurants™ Credits

As an esquire of superlative tastes, I must state that I am in no way receiving material remuneration for my endorsement of Vought Restaurants. No, I legitimately find the piquant sauce with which the luxuriously-battered chicken tenders are served to be refined as well as delicate.

It’s a good thing that the Vought Black Rewards Card comes with $100 in credits at Vought Restaurants, good for pickup, delivery, and takeout orders.

Note: restaurant credits are not available for use at “The Deep™” branded aquariums or fish-and-chip stands until his reappointment to The Seven™ has been finalized.

Complimentary A-Trainer Access™

As the fastest man alive, it’s not a surprise A-Train has lent his name to one of the finest running virtual fitness apps available on both Android and iOS. I myself use A-Trainer Access™ for all my sprint interval training.

While a normal membership will run you $12.99 a month, this makes it free for a trial period of 12 months after which there’s a reduced membership rate of $69.42 annually.

Insurance Coverage

Assuming you’ve been hurt overseas, you can seek treatment at any time at a Vought Health™ clinic for up to $1,000,000 in coverage per person. This is not applicable to pre-existing conditions or the collateral damage which may be caused by superhuman activity.

Assuming you’re flying any one of Vought’s various airlines, you can also claim baggage loss insurance of $750 per person, up to a maximum of $500 per item. A baggage delay on the same airlines would get you $500 via a successful claim from Number Key’s Vought Insurance Underwriters™.

Trip cancellation or delay is also available up to $2,000 per person assuming the payment was made entirely with your Vought Rewards Black card on a Vought Airline™, up to $5,000 per person.

Car rental insurance includes a standard loss-damage waiver at all Vought Rental™ locations, as well as a complimentary Homelander Inner Circle membership (which allows for occasional upgrades of one vehicle class).

There’s also the standard superhero collateral damage, which allows you to make claims of up to $50,000 for a lifetime should you mistakenly be subject to damage that is coincidental to the presence of a Vought superhero and which in no way is to be interpreted as an admission of liability or indemnity on the part of Vought International™, its subsidiaries, or contractors.

As most premium credit cards are now offering, there is also up to $20,000 in emergency evacuation funds should your vacation which has been fully booked via Vought Travel™ be subject to hostile superhuman disruption.

Earning Vought Black Rewards Points

The Vought Black Rewards Card earns Vought Rewards points at the following rates:

  • 5 Vought+ Rewards points for every $1 spent at Vought Kingdom Resorts, Vought Restaurants, Vought Armories, Vought+ Subscriptions, and Vought-umbrella airlines (Air Black, Brave Maeve Air, etc.)
  • 3 Vought+ Rewards points per dollar spent on dining, gas, groceries, ammunition, rideshare, and superhero apparel
  • 1 Vought+ Rewards points for every dollar spent on all other purchases

Redeeming Vought Black Rewards Points

Remember: Vought Black Rewards points can be transferred at a ratio of 1:1 for Brave Maeve’s Inclusive Flyer Miles™ on all Vought-umbrella airlines. This includes, but isn’t limited to, Air Black, Brave Maeve Airways, and soon will include Deep Seaplanes, Inc.

Vought Black Rewards points can also be used at a flat redemption cashback rate of 1cpp, though this is far from ideal. If you do want to go the cashback route, it’s much better to use the card at Vought Kingdom Resorts™ worldwide for a redemption value of 1.25cp.

Who Is the Vought Black Rewards Card Best For?

If you’re big into training for a marathon, or spend a lot of time and money at Vought-branded restaurants or Vought Kingdom™ Resorts, then this is probably the right card for you.

If you’re a frequent flier who doesn’t like paying for flights, or who wants to try one of Vought’s many airlines, then this is also a good way to switch up your normal travel schedule or routine.

The $900 annual fee (which is really a net of $800 once the restaurant credit is included) is a little bit steep, especially as there aren’t many G-Men lounges yet, but the pilot project does seem promising. Assuming there aren’t any more unfortunate incidents involving dolphins, another one might be opening sometime soon.

Physical fitness is important, but when you consider that the cost of normal A-Trainer Access™ is much less than the annual fee, that’s not enough of a reason to sign up.

Before you apply, remember that Vought Credit Union has a once-in-a-lifetime welcome bonus policy and has been known to send supes from their backup teams to collect from those who applied for cards while over 4/36 (four new accounts in 36 months).

Don’t be like Ted the con-artist who had Lamplighter ask rather unpleasant questions as to the methods by which he accessed 30 Vought Credit Union cards back in 2006….

Comparable Cards to the Vought Black Rewards

There aren’t any. This is a peerless example of the finest form of dedication to the Vought family of companies, which looks out both for America and for all of us. Amen!

Conclusion

And there you have it. The Vought Black Rewards Card is easily one of the strongest credit cards contenders on the market, almost as strong as Homelander’s chiseled manly physique.

Indeed, there are few credit solutions that can compete with it, but then again, who can compete with Vought these days? They are the best company with the best brands, and of course the best heroes.

We are wishing Homelander and Starlight all the best and hope you too will show support for Vought’s missions of inclusivity by including us in the fat marketing budget, I mean the fat benefits of the Vought Black Rewards Card.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Vought Black Rewards card is invitation only. But don’t worry, if you are an individual of appropriate means, then Vought Credit Union shall oblige you once you meet their tiered spending requirements, which are as unknown as Black Noir’s visage.

The annual fee is $900.

As of last year, Air Black, Brave Maeve Airways, and Deep Seaplanes (only available in Alaska, Hawaii, and the Maldives), have been pooled under Brave Maeve’s Inclusive Flyer Miles. All airline point transfers can be made to this program, with the occasional 10-25% bonus.

When you buy foodstuffs such as chicken tenders at a Vought-branded restaurant, you will receive a statement credit up to $100 within 3-5 days of the purchase posting to your account. This is a cumulative credit: you receive the rebate until the entire $100 has been exhausted.

At present, only the Denver locale is functioning. The next to open should be Vought’s pilot project in Batman, Turkey.

  1. I’m curious if the low annual fee version Vought Rewards Black Card that doesn’t require an invitation can still be applied for, or has it disappeared like Translucent?
