Annual TD Rewards Points Birthday Bonus

TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card cardholders can receive up to 10,000 TD Rewards Points as an annual birthday bonus.

The birthday bonus is calculated as 10% of the total TD Rewards Points earned over the 12 months preceding the cardholder’s birthday. Only TD Rewards Points earned on the First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card count towards the bonus.

Annual TD Travel Credit for Expedia for TD

TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card cardholders will receive an annual $100 travel credit when booking travel arrangements through Expedia for TD. Eligible travel purchases include:

  • A Hotel, Motel, Lodging, or Vacation Rental Purchase of $500 CAD or more
  • A Vacation Package Purchase of $500 CAD or more made with Expedia For TD, that includes a Hotel, Motel, Lodging, or Vacation Rental booking packaged with a transportation booking.

It is important to note that flight bookings are not eligible for this credit, so plan accordingly before booking to avoid disappointment.

Insurance Coverage

The TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite credit card offers the following insurance coverages:

  • Travel medical insurance: $2,000,000 for an insured person under 65 for the first 21 consecutive days of out-of-province travel; 4 days if over age 65

Redeeming TD Rewards Points

TD Rewards Points can be redeemed for travel, merchandise, gift cards, a statement credit, or an education credit.

The best way to redeem TD Rewards Points is to use them on Expedia for TD towards travel bookings, including flights, hotels, car rentals, all-inclusive vacations, cruises, train travel, and other travel activities. TD Rewards Points are worth 0.5 cents per point when redeeming through Expedia for TD, making this the highest value option you can receive from your points.

If you aren’t interested in using Expedia for TD, the next best redemption for your TD Rewards Points is to use them towards “Book Any Way” travel expenses at a rate of 0.4 cents per point.

Through a “Book Any Way” travel redemption, cardholders can redeem their TD Rewards Points against eligible transportation expenses, accommodation expenses, and activity expenses. While your points are worth slightly less when redeeming through this option, it is more flexible as you can charge the expense to your card and then redeem afterward.

We would advise against redeeming your TD Rewards Points for any option outside of travel as the value is significantly reduced through other redemption options.

Comparable Credit Cards

If you are looking for a comparable travel credit card that offers an easy way to offset travel costs, there are a few other cards that are worth considering.

Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite Card

The Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite card is another popular travel credit card that we recommend to many Canadians who are looking for a card with a reasonable annual fee and great travel benefits.
