Eligible National Bank Credit Cards
We are currently offering a cash back rebate on three National Bank credit cards.
National Bank World Elite Card
The National Bank World Elite card earns À la Carte Rewards points and offers cardholders benefits such as $150 in annual travel credits and access to the National Bank VIP lounge in the YUL International terminal.
Check out our National Bank World Elite review for more details about this card.
0 À la carte Rewards
The National Bank World Elite Mastercard comes with an annual travel credit, complimentary access to the National Bank VIP lounge at Montreal Trudeau airport, and very comprehensive insurance coverage.
The $150 annual travel credit can be applied towards various ancillary travel expenses including airport parking, baggage fees, seat selection, access to airline lounges, and airline ticket upgrades.
This travel credit renews annually on January 1st meaning that depending on when you sign up for the card, you may be able to “double-dip” two travel credits within one cardholder year.
National Bank Platinum Card
The National Bank Platinum card earns À la Carte Rewards and gives cardholders the opportunity to earn 2x À la Carte points on grocery purchases.
0 À la carte Rewards
The National Bank Platinum Mastercard offers a consistent earn rate on all purchases and a strong suite of insurance coverages.
National Bank World Card
The National Bank World card earns À la Carte Rewards points and offers cardholders a free Boingo WiFi membership.
0 À la carte Rewards
The National Bank World Mastercard offers an increased earning rate for increased spending volume and a free Boingo WiFi membership (which you can use to get free WiFi on WestJet flights).
À La Carte Rewards Program
À la Carte rewards points are the in-house rewards program at National Bank and they can be redeemed for a variety of options. However, the best value can be extracted by using your points for travel purchases:
- Travel purchases that have been booked with the À la carte rewards travel agency.
- Points can be redeemed at a rate of 1 cent per point (10,000 points = $100).
- Travel purchases that have been booked on your own externally.
- Points can be redeemed at a rate of 0.833 cents per point (12,000 points = $100) and the value increases the more points you redeem (up to 0.909 cents per point for a $500 redemption).
The best value for your À la Carte rewards points is to redeem them against travel bookings made through the À la Carte Rewards travel agency. A close second is to redeem them against travel you have booked on your own.
The National Bank credit cards, particularly the World Elite, offer some great value to Canadians who are looking for a credit card for their travel-related needs. We recommend looking into all three National Bank cards to determine which one is best for your lifestyle before applying.
