Costco is a popular name in many Canadian households as customers look to save money on their monthly grocery costs. As we have previously mentioned in our articles on the best credit cards for dining out for Canadians and the best credit cards for grocery purchases in Canada, consumers should always look to optimize their credit card usage based on where the majority of their monthly spending is done.

Selecting the right credit card to use at Costco becomes even more important when you realize that Costco only accepts Mastercards (although there are roundabout ways to use Visa and American Express cards at Costco). The CIBC Costco World Mastercard may be an obvious choice for the family that spends a lot at Costco, however, it might not be the best choice depending on your personal finance needs.

Let’s take a look at everything you need to know about the CIBC Costco World Mastercard to see if this card is worth adding to your wallet.

Conclusion

While the CIBC Costco World Mastercard can be a good fit for a family who spends a large amount of money at Costco, it is worth considering other credit cards that may provide a more robust earning rate or bonus category options to ensure you are getting the most from your spending.

Either way, always thinking about where the majority of your spending is done will give you the opportunity to further optimize your personal finance situation by choosing the right credit card for your needs.
